An interesting event with yet more frustrating shifty, crazy winds blowing off shore making it look like no wind from the beach, but actually being 15 + knots, gusting through at 25 + every 20 mins. This made sail choice a big problem and left everyone wondering if they would actually get back to the beach if it blew up again. At one point, I myself wondered if it would be quicker and easier to swim my kit back to the beach as we were fighting our 12sqm sails in over 25knots of wind (& rain) as a sqawl hit just on the way back to the beach. Many of us headed straight to the beach further up the coast... ;-)
